I don’t remember why I went to my first yoga class. I was 15 and probably just wanted to be different. I do recall the teacher remarked on how tight my hamstrings were. From that inauspicious beginning, yoga has woven through my life and my practice took hold while pregnant with my first child and deepened when I needed mental space leading up to the arrival of my second child. I find yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation help me focus on what’s in front of me and tune out the nonessentials, allowing me to be more present at work and with my family. My goal is to show others how powerful our minds, breath, and bodies can be when we are open to the possibilities yoga offers in our everyday lives.
Join us for the last $5 Happy Hour Yoga of the summer! Caelan Ford will be presenting “Yoga in Daily Life: Meditation and the Mantam”
We'll be discussing and focusing on the book, Passage Meditation by Eknath Easwaran.
Some of our discussion and 'doing yoga' will be focused on meditation, it’s benefits, and a system to employ to improve your connection with god-based foundations based on the eight-point approach.
"The cool thing about his book is it gives a practical way to do the things the Gita and the Sutras say are essential to deepening your relationship with god— I think we all read the original texts and were a bit overwhelmed by the prospect of trying to apply those recommendations to our daily lives." ~Caelan
