Class Descriptions

Descriptions are listed alphabetically. Scroll down to find a particular class. Note: All Kai instructors are RYT200 certified and trained to modify asanas to suit your anatomy. Inform the instructor about any concerns you may have regarding certain asanas (poses). As always, the instruction is SUGGESTION and GUIDANCE; the PRACTICE IS YOURS!

Aerial Align and Restore

STYLE: Aerial Swing
AUDIENCE: Beginners /”Preflight” Aerial Basics class suggested

An all-levels appropriate class, but you may wish to take the “Preflight Aerial Workshop” held monthly you have no prior experience with yoga or are a bit wary of the swings. Antigravity aerial swings remove compression from the body and offer a different perspective on traditional yoga postures. This class utilizes the swings to lengthen stretches, increase strength, and create space in the body.


STYLE: Ashtanga
AUDIENCE: Beginners

Created for the student who has NO IDEA what to do! We'll work at your pace of moving and learning. The instructor will guide you through the six fundamental postures of the Ashtanga Beginner's Series.

Ashtanga: Led Primary

STYLE: Ashtanga
AUDIENCE: Experienced / Advanced

Created for the Ashtangis who have a regular Mysore-style practice. This class is not New-to-Yoga Friendly, but if you have a working knowledge of the postures (and the modifications you can make), then you are welcome to join us. 

After the Opening Chant, we will dive straight into our practice with Surya Namaskar A & B, then continue through the Primary Series. Class time is about 1 hour, 45 minutes, which includes Closing Chant and Taking Rest.


STYLE: Ashtanga
AUDIENCE: New to Advanced

Why is it called 'Mysore'? Mysore, or Mysuru, India is the birthplace of Ashtanga Vinyasa Method. Ashtanga Mysore is a group class where students are provided individual instruction to guide them through the Ashtanga System. Students can arrive and start their practice any time between the times posted, so this makes it a great practice for those with a changing schedule. Great for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. 


STYLE: Hatha
Audience: Beginners and beyond

Taking a slightly different perspective, chair yoga is perfect for anyone for whom the mat is inaccessible. Same yoga fundamentals. You can take your practice to a different level with this class. This is a great class to start with if you are new to yoga


STYLE: Hatha
AUDIENCE: Beginners / No Experience

Yoga benefits EVERYONE! Even the littles! You and your children/grandchildren/ nieces/nephews are welcome to come to the studio for a time of movement, play and exploration. Age recommendations are 2 - 5, but if this doesn't fit your situation, please call. More than one child? Add $5 for each additional child.

Gentle Hatha

STYLE: Hatha
AUDIENCE: Beginners / No Experience

A gentle and beginner appropriate class based in the Hatha tradition of yoga. Attention to the breath, focused movement, and emphasis on intention are offered in this class.


STYLE: Ashtanga
AUDIENCE: Beginners / No Experience

Ashtanga is a yoga practice that can be adapted for all body types and abilities. This intimate, small-group class will provide you with direct teacher instruction on what to wear, what to expect in a Mysore-style class, and introduce you to the basic postures and breathing practices of Ashtanga Yoga. 


STYLE: Aerial Swing Yoga

AUDIENCE: Beginners/No Experience

For students who are new to yoga and new to the yoga swings used in Aerial yoga. Safety, set-up and fundamental poses will be covered.

Stretch and Strengthen

STYLE: Hatha
AUDIENCE: Some experience/Intermediate

Based in the Hatha tradition of yoga. Focuses on balance, strength, flexibility, and breathing. Introduces more mentally and physically challenging postures as students progress.

Vinyasa Yoga

STYLE: Hatha Yoga
AUDIENCE: Some Experience Recommended

Vinyasa Yoga is a fast-paced series of postures that focuses on the flow between movements, rather than individual poses. Typically a dynamic practice that is not recommended for New to Yoga Beginners.

Yin Yoga

STYLE: Yin Yoga
AUDIENCE: Beginners / No Experience

Yin Yoga is a slow–paced style of yoga in which poses are held for five minutes or longer. Promotes flexibility and strengthens the joints by applying moderate stress to the connective tissue while increasing circulation. 

Yoga Fundamentals

STYLE: Hatha
AUDIENCE: Beginners / No Experience

Based in the Hatha yoga tradition, this all-levels appropriate class focuses on the basic principles of yoga, combining movement and breath to bring peace to the body and mind. Taught in a “workshop” style where students are given the opportunity to explore the different poses. This is a great class to start with if you are new to yoga!
