BEFORE YOGA:

I was diagnosed with vertigo in early 2000. There was a time I feared being upside down and I was afraid to participate in all the activities I loved. My doctor suggested yoga. Even though I was fearful, I took a chance and tried this ancient practice.

WHAT I LEARNED:

Yoga helps me to understand my body, my weakness and my strength. It allows me to exercise at my own pace, my own flexibility and my own time. I practiced regularly and gained so much confidence that now I am less afraid and more able to practice inversions.

WHY I TEACH:

I love teaching and sharing knowledge. The more I share, the more I learn. Teaching makes me humble as I realize how much more there is to learn. I want to encourage a regular practice - even if only one day a week. I realize how important it is for me to be fit and well for my family and my community. By teaching, I can encourage others to do the same.
